Prof. Malte Brinkmann (Humboldt-Universität Berlin)

Malte Brinkmann teaches General Pedagogy at the Institute for Educational Studies at Humboldt University, Berlin. He represents a phenomenologically oriented pedagogy, regularly invites to an International Symposium on Phenomenological Educational Studies and is editor of a book series on this subject. 

His research focuses on Bildung, educational and social-theoretical questions, in particular on a theory of embodied learning and practising (the practice). A further focus is on qualitative research in teaching and learning, in particular on phenomenological video analysis.

These interests are reflected in teaching: In addition to lectures on the introduction to educational studies and on questions of Bildung, educational and practice (Übung) theory, he is responsible for the qualitative method courses in teacher training and pedagogy courses. He offers seminars on philosophical, didactic, aesthetic, social-theoretical and cultural topics as well as on qualitative educational research.

He is a reviewer for national and international scientific journals and a member of the editorial board of international journals. He has been a visiting professor at various international universities. In October 2019 he was awarded as an Honorary Professor at the Capital Normal University, Beijing. He is also Foreign Chief Expert at the Educational Video and Image Analysis Lab at Zheijang Normal University, Jinhua.

Prof. Luigina Mortari (Università di Verona)

Luigina Mortati is a full professor of pedagogy, theories of education and social education at the Department of Human Sciences. The research activity is developed in two related fields: philosophy and pedagogy, and following two directions: theoretical and applied.

The theorization of a philosophy of care applied to the educative field (education as care) and healthcare (education to care).

The theorization of a virtue ethics theory following the paradigm of care, through the pedagogical application in the MelArete project.

Th development of an epistemology of qualitative research mixing two different methods (phenomenological, hermeneutical and grounded) in order to fit complex situation
